Nasolabial Folds (Smile Lines) in Miami

Nasolabial folds — often called smile lines — are the creases running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They are normal, and can deepen over time as skin and the support beneath it change. At Activate Beauty in North Miami Beach, we assess what is driving yours and plan measured options under medical supervision — consultation first.

What causes it

Why smile lines become more visible

The nasolabial folds are a natural part of facial structure — they frame the mouth and move every time you smile or speak. Over time, changes in skin quality and in the support beneath the cheeks and midface can make the folds appear deeper or more set, even at rest.

Volume distribution, skin laxity and how your face moves all contribute, and they differ from person to person. Because of that, we assess your own proportion and skin before discussing whether any treatment is appropriate, rather than treating the fold in isolation.

How we can help

Support and proportion, planned to your face

Depending on what is driving the folds, one of the following may be discussed at your consultation. Suitability is always assessed first, under medical supervision.

Facial balancing

Hyaluronic acid filler planned across the midface and surrounding areas to support proportion, rather than filling the line directly. The goal is harmony that suits your face.

Sculptra

A collagen-stimulating treatment for those whose goal is gradual support built over a series of sessions. It works with your skin over time rather than for an immediate change.

What to expect

Consultation first, no pressure to proceed

Every plan begins with an unhurried consultation. We assess before we treat, and individual results vary.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We review your history, look at your facial proportion and skin, and confirm whether a treatment is appropriate for you. There is no obligation to book.

  2. 02

    A plan for your anatomy

If a treatment suits you, support is planned around your own structure and goals — not a fixed template — and explained before anything goes ahead.

  3. 03

    Conservative by design

We would rather start measured and review than over-treat. The aim is a result that still looks like you, performed under medical supervision.

  4. 04

    Review

We check in after your treatment and adjust the plan over time as needed. Individual results vary, and questions in between are welcome.

Questions

Nasolabial folds FAQ

What are nasolabial folds?

Nasolabial folds, often called smile lines, are the creases that run from the sides of the nose down to the corners of the mouth. They are a normal facial feature; they can become more noticeable over time as skin and the support beneath it change. At a consultation we assess what is driving yours.

How are nasolabial folds addressed?

Where support and proportion are part of the picture, facial balancing with hyaluronic acid filler may be discussed to support the surrounding area. Where gradual, collagen-stimulating support over time is the goal, Sculptra may be considered. Suitability is assessed at your consultation under medical supervision.

Who performs the treatment?

Your treatment is performed by an Aesthetic Nurse Injector at Activate Beauty, under medical supervision. The clinic was founded and is clinically overseen by Kseniya Zakharova, and delivered to her standard.

Is a consultation required first?

Yes. We review your history, look at your facial proportion and skin, and confirm whether a treatment is appropriate for you before anything is planned. There is no obligation to proceed, and individual results vary.
