The short answer
A Botox before and after shows how a neuromodulator softens the lines that appear when you move — like a frown or raised brows. The change is gradual: most people notice the first softening around days 3–4, with the full effect at about two weeks. Done well, it looks like you, just more rested — not frozen. Individual results vary.
What a before and after actually shows
A good comparison is honest about what changed. With a neuromodulator, three things tend to be visible — and they are subtle by design.
-
Softer movement lines
Lines that show when you frown, squint or raise your brows appear gentler.
-
A more rested look
The upper face often reads as calmer and less tense — expression is kept.
-
Subtle, not dramatic
It is a refinement of one area, not a face-changing transformation.
Worth knowing: deep, etched lines that are present even at rest may soften over time but are not erased by a neuromodulator alone. Your injector will tell you honestly what to expect for your face.
Why the change happens gradually
Botox is a brand of neuromodulator — a prescription medicine that temporarily relaxes the small muscles responsible for certain expressions. When a treated muscle moves less, the skin over it creases less, so the line it normally forms looks softer.
Because the effect builds as the medicine settles, you do not see a result the moment you leave the clinic. That is exactly why a same-day "after" photo is misleading — the honest comparison is taken once everything has settled, at around two weeks.

Your before-and-after, day by day
Here is the typical arc from treatment day to the point where a fair "after" can be taken.
A typical timeline. Your own pace may differ — individual results vary.
Day 0 — the "before"
This is the reference point. Tiny bumps or slight redness at the injection sites are normal and fade within hours. Nothing about your lines has changed yet.
Days 1–2 — settling in
Any pinpoint marks fade. Occasionally a small bruise appears. You will not see a result yet — this is expected.
Days 3–4 — first softening
Most people notice the treated area starting to feel and look smoother in movement. The change is gentle and builds from here.
Days 7–10 — most of the effect
The result is well underway. If something still looks slightly uneven, it is usually still settling — not the final picture.
Day 14 — the fair "after"
At around two weeks the effect is fully settled. This is the right moment for an honest before-and-after comparison and for any complimentary review with your injector, who can assess whether a small adjustment would help.
The honest "after" is the one taken at two weeks — not the day of treatment.Activate Beauty
What affects your before and after
Two people can have very different results from the same treatment. A few factors explain why your plan is always individual.
- The area treated. Forehead, frown lines and crow's feet each behave differently and call for different placement.
- The dose planned for it. The number of units is matched to your muscles and your goal — see units for the forehead and what 20 units typically covers.
- Your muscle strength and skin. Stronger muscles and deeper, etched lines respond differently to softer, newer ones.
- Whether it is your first time. Results often build and refine over a few sessions as your plan is fine-tuned.
This is why copying someone else's photo — or unit count — rarely predicts your own outcome. Curious about cost? See how much Botox costs in Miami.
Realistic vs. unrealistic expectations
Before-and-after images can be helpful — or misleading. A simple line between what they fairly show and what they should never promise.
-
What's fair to expect
- Softer lines in movement
- A more rested upper face
- A look that is still recognizably you
- A result that fades and needs maintenance
-
What it can't promise
- An identical outcome you can count on
- Removing every line, including deep static ones
- A lasting change — results fade and need maintenance
- The same result for everyone, regardless of their face
A before-and-after is a record, not a promise. Outcomes differ from person to person, and no result can be promised in advance. Individual results vary.
Where the real before-and-afters live
A handful of clients have given us their written consent to share their before-and-after photos. You can compare them below — drag the handle to reveal the result, and tap a case to switch. These are real, consented results; individual results vary, and they are not a guarantee.

Real, consented results — individual results vary; not a guarantee. Shown with each client’s written consent. These examples span several treatments and faces; your own outcome depends on your anatomy and goals.
Beyond these, most patient photos are protected health information, so we do not publish them openly. With each patient’s written consent, fully personalised before-and-after examples that relate to your face and goal are reviewed privately during your free consultation — with no obligation — so your injector can talk you honestly through what is, and isn’t, realistic for you.
Be prepared
What to ask at your consultation
- What's realistic for my lines? Ask what a neuromodulator can soften — and what it can't.
- How many units, and why? Understand the plan rather than a number alone.
- When should we compare? Agree on a two-week review so the "after" is fair.
- How long will it last for me? Get a realistic range and a maintenance rhythm.
Bringing photos of your own face in movement — frowning, raising your brows — helps your injector plan a result that fits you.

Botox before and after FAQ
When do you see before-and-after changes from Botox?
Many people notice the first softening around days 3–4, with the full effect settling at roughly two weeks. A meaningful comparison is fairest at the two-week mark.
What does a realistic Botox before and after actually show?
Usually a softening of dynamic lines that appear with movement — for example when you frown or raise your brows. The face still moves and looks like you; it's a refinement, not a transformation.
How long do Botox results last?
Results commonly last around three to four months and then gradually fade. Longevity varies with the area treated, the dose, and your own metabolism. Individual results vary.
Does the number of units change the before and after?
Yes. The area treated and the dose planned for it both shape the outcome, which is why your plan is individual and set at a consultation rather than copied from someone else's photos.
Can I see real before-and-after photos before booking?
Real, consented before-and-after images are reviewed privately during your free consultation. Patient photos are protected health information, so we don't publish them as open proof.
Will my before and after look natural?
The aim is a result that looks like you, just more rested. Dose and placement are planned so expression is preserved rather than frozen. Individual results vary.
